Salem Children's Trust
is a nonprofit charity, that welcomes children with emotional and behavioral challenges. Counseling is provided from a Christian perspective.
Salem opened its doors in Garrett County in 1979 to half a dozen children and as many staff. It is located on a 380-acre farm along Lower New Germany Road in Garrett County, between Grantsville and Frostburg, Maryland.
Salem programs in the United States are neither legally nor financially tied to other Salem programs. They are, however, all bound to one another by a commitment a common heritiage and general philosophy. There are schools in Germany, Salem Stadtsteinach Höchheim, Kovahl, Uganda, Russia, India, Israel, Togo, USA (New England and Mayland), Columbia, and Ecuador.

Good, healthy eating habits coupled with regular exercise and visits to local pediatricians and dentists will hopefully encourage Salem children to make good health choices throughout their lifetimes.
The Salem community, though not affiliated with any single denomination, is a Christ-centered sanctuary which offers healing to hurting children and their families.

The Salem School is approved by the Maryland State Department of Education and provides full-day special education services and Type III regular education transition services.
